Many people become frustrated when being told they need SRP or deep cleanings rather than routine dental cleanings. At Gleam we understand that and provide our patients with education and explanation if this is our recommendation. Undergoing this treatment is important because they treat gum disease (periodontitis) before it worsens and leads to tooth loss or other health issues. is crucial for treating gum disease by removing plaque and tartar buildup below the gumline, reducing inflammation, and preventing tooth and bone loss. It helps shrink gum pockets, improves breath, and lowers the risk of systemic health issues like heart disease and diabetes. By stopping gum disease early, SRP prevents the need for costly treatments like surgery or extractions, promoting long-term oral health. If you are looking for a second opinion we look forward to meeting you. Your Gleam Dentist will recommend appropriate treatment, take intraoral photos and provide detailed explanation so that you can feel confident that you are making the right decision for your dental health.
